Dear Friends,
Although Christmas is now behind us, it has taken us at least this long to believe that Floyd is no longer with us. Sadly, Floyd was not able to mail his Christmas letter himself. Shortly after writing the letter, the pain from his fall on December 3 became very intense, so he checked himself into the Lake Forest Hospital. A series of complications led to the formation of a blood clot that resulted in a fatal heart attack.

Dad’s life will always be a benchmark for his family. He lived faithfully the biblical model of stewardship, knowing full well that both his time and money were the Lord’s. Floyd leaves behind a real legacy. The main principle Dad taught us was to have a positive outlook on situations. Regardless of the situation, Floyd always had a "positive spin" to put on it. We know that this ability was not just because of "mind over matter" or "positive mental attitude"-- rather, it clearly derived from his deep and abiding Christian faith. This same faith conveyed to him the knowledge that someday he could count on seeing Julanne and being with her, only this time for eternity. So we rejoice with Mom and Dad and look forward to seeing them again.
